Challenge
The GSA (General Services Administration) is the largest provider of office space in the United States. How do you expose their massive portfolio to best practice workplace strategies and influence more efficient and effective design of their spaces?
My Role
I served as project manager at DEGW and led the development of the tool interface and structure, in addition to creating the animations and writing and directing the live action videos.
Outcome
The Workplace Solutions Library (WSL) is an interactive tool to assist government agencies in workplace planning and furniture selection. WSL would be used to determine an agency’s work patterns and provide best practice furniture and plan layouts to suit their particular needs. The tool is based on program and research data from years of GSA agency workplace engagements and includes short “day-in-the-life” videos, surveys, and space layout animations to enhance the user experience and deliver an accessible and engaging product.

"Day in the Life" Videos
I wrote and directed videos to show a typical "day in the life" for multiple workplace personas.
3D Models and Animation
I built 3D models in Sketchup and created animated videos to describe best practices when planning spaces and selecting furniture for each workplace persona.
